Naperville, IL – A fire broke out in a single-family home on the 700 block of Wildflower Circle at 12:36 p.m. on Wednesday. The Naperville Emergency Communication Center (ECC) quickly dispatched a general alarm response involving 10 fire apparatus and 24 personnel. Responders, including an incident commander and safety officer, observed heavy smoke while en route.
By 12:40 p.m., the first fire crews arrived to find the side and roof of the home engulfed in flames, which had already spread to a neighboring residence. At 12:44 p.m., a box alarm response was requested, bringing in five more fire apparatus and 21 additional personnel. Firefighters ensured all residents were safely evacuated before deploying multiple hose lines and aerial devices to combat the blaze.
The fire was brought under control by 1:25 p.m., but crews remained on the scene for another hour to extinguish hot spots. According to the Naperville Fire Department, there were no injuries to occupants or firefighters. The Naperville Police, Electric, and Transportation, Engineering, and Development departments provided critical support, along with fire departments from nearby communities.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The building was deemed uninhabitable, with estimated damages totaling $300,000.
