Spokane, WA – Thunderstorms are set to impact the Inland Northwest, including Spokane, starting Thursday afternoon and continuing into the weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Spokane has issued warnings for multiple rounds of thunderstorms, expected to bring lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rain across the region.

According to the NWS, Thursday’s storms are anticipated to affect areas such as Spokane, Pullman, Lewiston, and Coeur d’Alene, with probabilities ranging from 16 to 42 percent. The Cascades, Okanogan Valley, and northeastern Washington mountains are at a higher risk on Friday. Hazards include cloud-to-ground lightning, outflow winds up to 40 mph, and potential burn scar flooding.

Saturday’s forecast predicts continued storm activity, primarily affecting central Washington, including the east slopes of the Cascades, Wenatchee, and Okanogan Valleys. Residents are advised to stay vigilant for rapidly changing weather conditions, which could lead to localized flooding and new wildfire starts.

Temperatures in Spokane are expected to range from the upper 50s at night to the high 80s on Thursday, cooling slightly on Friday with highs around 81°F. However, a heat surge will bring temperatures back into the low 90s by Saturday, before gradually tapering off into the mid-80s by Sunday.
