Little Rock, AR – Arkansas is set to endure a relentless heat wave, with temperatures expected to surpass 100 degrees across the state today and through the weekend. The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued warnings about the hazardous conditions, urging residents to take precautions as the heat index values are predicted to exceed 110 degrees in many areas.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high temperatures will range between 96 and 100 degrees across the state, with heat indices peaking between 105 and 112 degrees. The forecast indicates that Little Rock, Hot Springs, and other central Arkansas regions will see the highest heat index values, with some areas potentially reaching up to 112 degrees. Northern and eastern parts of the state, including Searcy and Jonesboro, will also face dangerous heat levels, with indices exceeding 110 degrees.

As the weekend approaches, the extreme heat is expected to persist. Friday and Saturday will continue to see temperatures near or above 100 degrees, with only slight relief anticipated on Sunday as temperatures dip into the mid-90s. However, the heat index will still pose a significant risk, likely remaining over 100 degrees throughout the weekend.
