Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe weather outlook for Middle Tennessee, predicting potential thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday that could disrupt outdoor activities. According to the NWS, Thursday evening plans should be unaffected, but the region should brace for possible strong to severe storms starting Friday.
The primary threats include strong winds, heavy downpours, and cloud-to-ground lightning. Residents are advised to remain weather-aware, particularly during outdoor events, as conditions could deteriorate quickly. The NWS recommends having a safe shelter plan ready and advises against using open-air shelters like pavilions or picnic areas during storms.
Looking at the extended forecast, temperatures on Thursday are expected to peak at 93°F under mostly clear skies. As the weekend approaches, storm chances increase, with a 50% likelihood of rain on Friday and a 40% chance on Saturday, accompanied by temperatures in the low 90s and high 80s, respectively. By Sunday, the weather should clear up, bringing sunny skies and a high of 84°F.
