Pocatello, ID – Pocatello and surrounding areas in southeastern Idaho are facing an active weather pattern, with isolated to scattered thunderstorms expected both today and Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service in Pocatello, areas such as Bear Lake, Caribou, and Franklin Counties have already received between 0.10 to 0.50 inches of rain early Monday morning.
The storms will bring the potential for strong to severe conditions, primarily focusing on wind gusts reaching 40-60 mph, heavy rainfall, and small hail. The most significant risk for severe weather is anticipated on Monday, with chances decreasing slightly on Tuesday.
Residents in Pocatello and nearby areas are advised to stay weather-aware, as these thunderstorms could lead to localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions. The National Weather Service warns that while the storms will be scattered, any severe storm that develops could pose a serious risk due to high winds and intense rainfall.
As the weather system moves through, temperatures will remain moderate, with highs reaching into the upper 80s on Monday and slightly cooler conditions expected for the rest of the week.
