Grand Forks, ND – North Dakota is in for a cool and windy day, with northwest winds increasing to 15-35 mph, particularly impacting eastern North Dakota and the Red River Valley. Scattered showers are also expected, mainly in northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota, as the region braces for cooler weather.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Forks has issued a forecast indicating highs ranging from 61 to 67 degrees today, with the strongest winds in eastern North Dakota. Winds are expected to diminish tonight, leading to gradual clearing, though an evening shower or sprinkles cannot be ruled out. Lows tonight will drop to between 44 and 48 degrees, providing a chilly evening as clouds decrease.

Looking ahead, the forecast shows a gradual warming trend into the weekend. Friday will remain cool with highs around 69 degrees under partly cloudy skies, but the wind will calm to 10-15 mph. By Saturday, temperatures are set to climb to 75 degrees with sunny skies, offering a respite from the cooler conditions. The warming trend continues into Sunday and Monday, with highs reaching 78 and 80 degrees, respectively. By Tuesday, temperatures are forecasted to reach a pleasant 81 degrees, under clear skies.

Residents should prepare for the windy conditions today, especially in the eastern part of the state, and keep an eye on the potential for scattered showers. As the week progresses, the weather is expected to improve, bringing warmer and sunnier days to North Dakota.
