Milwaukee, WI – Severe weather conditions, including the potential for flash flooding, are expected to impact Milwaukee until Tuesday night. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Watch effective from Monday evening through Tuesday morning. Areas most susceptible to flooding include low-lying and urban regions.
According to the NWS, heavy rainfall, strong winds, and hail are forecasted, with the heaviest rain expected between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are anticipated across southern Wisconsin, with locally higher amounts possible. The storms could also bring a moderate risk of tornadoes, especially in areas south of Wisconsin Dells to Mequon Line.
Residents are advised to stay weather aware and have a shelter plan in place. The NWS emphasizes the importance of keeping up with forecasts and preparing for potential flooding. Urban and low-lying areas are at the greatest risk for flash flooding, which can occur rapidly during intense rainfall.
