Little Rock, AR – The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a forecast predicting unsettled weather transitioning to oppressive heat early next week. A large plume of moisture will lead to continued chances of showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend. Temperatures are expected to remain below average until Monday.
According to the NWS, a storm system currently affecting the region will exit by Saturday, paving the way for a ridge of high pressure to move eastward. This pattern shift will bring oppressive heat and significantly reduce rain chances.
For today, Little Rock residents can expect a high of 81°F with a 70% chance of thunderstorms. Saturday will see similar conditions with temperatures reaching 83°F and a 65% chance of rain. Sunday’s forecast predicts a slight decrease in rain chances to 45%, with temperatures rising to 88°F.
The weather pattern will change drastically by Monday as high pressure dominates, bringing dry conditions and soaring temperatures. Monday’s high is forecasted at 94°F, and temperatures will continue to climb, reaching 97°F on Tuesday and Wednesday.
