Raleigh, NC – A flood watch is in effect for southeastern portions of North Carolina as scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop throughout the day. The heaviest rainfall is anticipated between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. today, with some storms potentially resulting in flash flooding.
According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, the region is under a marginal to slight risk for excessive rainfall. Residents in urban areas and locations with poor drainage should exercise caution, as these areas are particularly vulnerable to flooding.
The weather outlook for the next few days includes a mix of conditions. On Saturday, the forecast predicts partly cloudy skies with a high of 86°F. Sunday will bring sunnier weather with temperatures reaching 88°F. However, the chance of rain returns on Monday with a 35% likelihood of showers and a high of 85°F. Tuesday’s forecast shows a 50% chance of rain, with temperatures around 83°F.
As the week progresses, temperatures will continue to rise, reaching a high of 90°F by Wednesday and 92°F by Thursday. The later part of the week is expected to be mostly sunny, providing a break from the rain.
