San Antonio, TX – South Central Texas is set to experience an active weather pattern through the weekend, with persistent showers and thunderstorms. The National Weather Service (NWS) has highlighted a significant chance of heavy rain, particularly in the eastern regions, which may lead to localized flooding.

According to the NWS, the forecast indicates scattered thunderstorms on Thursday, with a 65% chance of precipitation in areas like Austin, where temperatures will reach a high of 86°F. The rain will continue into Friday and Saturday, with chances of precipitation at 40% and 45% respectively. Temperatures will hover in the mid-80s, providing a brief respite from the recent heat.

The weekend will see an increase in storm activity, with a 55% chance of thunderstorms on Sunday. These storms are expected to bring heavy downpours, which could exacerbate flooding risks in low-lying areas. Highs will remain consistent at around 87°F.

By Monday, the weather will begin to clear, with minimal impacts expected. Temperatures will rise slightly, reaching 91°F. The trend will continue into Tuesday, with mostly sunny skies and highs climbing to 93°F.

The NWS advises residents to stay informed about the latest weather updates and to exercise caution, especially in flood-prone areas. The active weather pattern is predicted to taper off by mid-week, giving way to drier and warmer conditions.
