According to the National Weather Service, this heatwave will bring daily highs exceeding 90 degrees, impacting areas across the state, including Eau Claire, which has yet to hit 90 this year. The most intense heat is predicted for the first week of August, with excessive heat warnings in effect from August 1 to August 7.
Today’s weather remains mild, with clear skies and a high of 83 degrees. However, temperatures will steadily rise, reaching 87 degrees on Friday and hitting 90 degrees on Saturday. The heatwave will peak mid-week with temperatures climbing to 92 degrees on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Air quality will be moderate, with an index around 53, posing minimal health risks for the general population. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor activities, and stay informed on weather updates as conditions develop.
