Minneapolis, MN – Southern Minnesota has an isolated chance of severe thunderstorms this afternoon, with potential 60 mph winds and hail.
According to weather models, storm activity may be boosted by a weak Mesoscale Convective Vortex (MCV) from morning storms, resulting in moderate buoyancy and deep-layer shear around 25 knots. Some of the stronger storms could produce isolated strong gusts exceeding 60 mph and marginally severe hail. The storms are likely to diminish by early to mid-evening.
