Grand Forks, ND – North Dakota is preparing for scattered thunderstorms today as a weak cold front moves south, according to the US National Weather Service in Grand Forks. The highest chances for thunderstorms are east of the Red River, with storms capable of producing small hail, heavy rain, and strong wind gusts.
According to the weather service, the smoky, hazy sky will persist throughout the day, with temperatures ranging from 80 to 87 degrees. Tonight’s lows will drop to 60 to 65 degrees, and winds are expected to shift north at 10 to 15 mph. The highest likelihood of severe weather is in northwest Minnesota.
The extended forecast for Grand Forks shows a mix of conditions. Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 78 degrees and a low of 62 degrees. By Wednesday, sunny skies will prevail with temperatures reaching 82 degrees during the day and dipping to 58 degrees at night.
Thursday and Friday will see a warming trend, with highs of 90 and 91 degrees, respectively. Thursday will be sunny, while Friday will be windy. The weekend will bring partly cloudy skies on Saturday with a high of 87 degrees, followed by mostly sunny conditions on Sunday.
