Logansport, IN – A serious two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of Logansport Road and US 24, resulting in one person suffering life-threatening injuries.

According to Cass County Sheriff Ed Schroder, the crash happened at approximately 10:40 AM. Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Logansport Police Department, Walton Fire Department, New Waverly Fire Department, and Cass County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. Preliminary investigations found that an eastbound motorcycle struck a westbound pickup truck.

The motorcycle struck the pickup truck at the rear of the driver’s side cab.

Rice complained of neck pain and was transported by ground ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Norris, who was wearing a helmet at the time, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and crash reconstructionists continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the office at 574-753-7800.
