Jackson, KY – Eastern Kentucky is set to experience a heatwave with temperatures soaring into the mid-90s through Tuesday. According to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, Kentucky, residents should prepare for hot and increasingly humid conditions, with little relief expected until midweek.

Today, temperatures will range between 91-96°F, with patchy valley fog early and a chance of late evening thunderstorms, especially in areas north of the Mountain Parkway. Monday’s forecast predicts even hotter conditions, with highs between 92-98°F and potential record heat, accompanied by morning fog in valley areas.

Tuesday’s weather will be similarly hot, with temperatures from 91-96°F and mostly sunny skies. The likelihood of scattered showers and thunderstorms will increase as the day progresses.

A significant weather change is expected on Wednesday as a cool front moves into the region. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 70-90% chance of widespread showers and thunderstorms, which will bring a much-needed break from the heat. Temperatures will range between 85-92°F.

Thursday will bring a refreshing change with partly sunny skies and a 20-60% chance of lingering showers and thunderstorms, particularly near Virginia. Highs are expected to be much cooler, ranging from 76-81°F.
