Little Rock, AR – A fatal collision involving a tractor-trailer and multiple passenger vehicles has led to a major traffic disruption on I-40 Westbound near the 230-mile marker. The Arkansas State Police (ASP) are currently on the scene of the five-vehicle accident, which has resulted in at least one fatality.

According to ASP, the crash occurred early Friday morning, causing significant delays. As a result, traffic on I-40 Westbound is being diverted at the 239-mile marker to U.S. 70. Drivers are then allowed to re-enter I-40 at the 221-mile marker on-ramp at the Wheatley exit. Authorities are urging motorists to seek alternative routes and to expect extended travel times throughout the day.

The closure is expected to be lengthy as emergency responders work to clear the wreckage and conduct an investigation. Motorists are advised to check the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s website for real-time updates and traffic conditions.
