Quad Cities, IA/IL – The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts significant rainfall for parts of Iowa and Illinois starting Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday. The remnants of Tropical Storm Beryl are expected to bring heavy rains, with a 40-60% chance of rainfall exceeding one inch southeast of a line from Springfield, IL to Kankakee, IL.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Beryl’s remnants will remain southeast of the Quad Cities forecast area. Early Monday morning, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will clear, making way for decreasing clouds throughout the day. Low rain chances persist through Wednesday, with potential afternoon and evening storms.
The five-day forecast shows varied weather conditions. Monday will see scattered morning showers with highs between 79°F and 84°F. Tuesday brings a slight chance (15-20%) of showers and thunderstorms in western Illinois and northeast Missouri, with highs from 80°F to 83°F. Wednesday will have similar conditions, with highs reaching 83°F. Thursday and Friday will be sunny and increasingly humid, with highs rising to 88°F by the end of the week.
