Rochester Hills, MI – Chaos erupted at a popular splash pad on Auburn Road late Saturday afternoon as an active shooter opened fire, injuring eight people, including children.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. Witnesses described a scene of panic as families enjoying the summer day scrambled for cover amid the sound of gunshots.
At least four of the victims are in critical condition. The identities of the injured have not been released, but authorities confirmed that both adults and children were among those hurt. Emergency services quickly transported the victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The suspect remains at large, prompting a massive manhunt. Authorities believe the shooter may still be nearby and are urging residents to avoid the area.
