LaPorte County, IN – Early this morning in LaPorte County, Indiana, a driver was taken into custody after reportedly bypassing two “ROAD CLOSED” barricades on US Route 6.

According to LaPorte County sheriff reports deputies have been monitoring the scene near the US 6 and US 421 South junction due to ongoing roundabout construction, spotted the vehicle at approximately 12:27 AM as it maneuvered around the roadblocks. The driver, later identified as Nicole L. Tarnow, 30, from Portage, Indiana, was stopped shortly thereafter and arrested.

Tarnow now faces three counts of Operating While Intoxicated and is currently held at the LaPorte County Jail on cash bond. The incident underscores the local law enforcement’s commitment to maintaining safety and order in the vicinity of the construction site, particularly during the roundabout project’s completion.
