La Porte County Sheriff’s Office Alerts Residents of Phone Scam Impersonating Law Enforcement Officials

La Porte County, IN – A warning has been issued by the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office regarding a scam operation.

According to their social media alert, an individual falsely identifying as Deputy “Ken Black” of the LSCSO has been making fraudulent calls to residents. This scammer has been reported to spoof the agency’s non-emergency phone number and deceive individuals into believing they have an outstanding arrest warrant, soliciting money for its resolution.

The Sheriff’s Office advises citizens to hang up immediately if contacted by this scammer and to spread the word to prevent others from falling victim to this scheme.
