Mokena, IL – The Mokena Police Department has announced that substantial roadwork on 191st Street between La Grange Road and Wolf Road is set to begin today, marking a significant step towards enhancing local infrastructure.

This initiative is expected to streamline travel and improve safety for the Mokena community, starting with crucial concrete work followed by thorough resurfacing activities. This project is facilitated by a financial boost from the Will County Governmental League Surface Transportation Program, enabling the Village of Mokena to bear only 20% of the total construction and engineering costs.

The comprehensive plan for the roadway includes the milling of the existing surface, paving of new roadway, and repairs to curbs, gutters, manholes, and sidewalks, in addition to upgrades at various intersections.  Through this effort, Mokena demonstrates its dedication to enhancing the quality of its infrastructure for the benefit of residents and visitors alike, ensuring a smoother and more reliable transportation network.
