Spokane, Washington – Rain is set to return overnight, with wet roads developing before sunrise and a steadier, more impactful round arriving by late Tuesday night.
According to the National Weather Service, rain chances increase to 50 percent overnight and again Monday afternoon, before surging to 90 percent Tuesday night. Periods of steady rain are expected across Spokane, Spokane Valley, and along I-90, with reduced visibility and slick pavement likely during the overnight hours.
Tuesday brings another round of rain during the day, with winds gusting up to 26 mph, which could make travel more difficult for high-profile vehicles. By Wednesday, rain becomes more widespread with a 70 percent chance and highs cooling to around 50°F.
Colder air arrives Wednesday night, dropping snow levels from around 4,300 feet to near 2,800 feet after midnight. This could allow a brief rain-snow mix early Thursday morning, especially on higher terrain and exposed roadways, though accumulation is expected to remain minimal.
Conditions begin to improve Thursday afternoon, with drier weather returning by Friday and highs rebounding into the upper 50s.
Drivers should plan for wet commutes late Tuesday night through Wednesday and stay alert for early morning slick spots Thursday. Additional advisories may be issued as colder air moves into the region.
