Reno, Nevada – Temperatures are dropping quickly overnight, and a few snow showers could create slick spots on roads before the Monday morning drive across the Reno-Sparks area.

According to the National Weather Service, a 20 percent chance of snow showers continues overnight with lows falling to around 28°F. While accumulation will be limited, bridges and elevated roadways could briefly become slick in colder pockets before sunrise.

Conditions improve quickly Monday, with sunshine returning and highs climbing to 56°F. Reno, Sparks, and Carson City will see dry weather through Tuesday, with highs reaching the low 60s and light winds keeping travel conditions favorable.

By Wednesday, a shift begins as clouds increase and winds pick up, with gusts up to 25 mph possible by afternoon. A new system arrives late Wednesday night, bringing a 30 percent chance of showers and lowering snow levels from around 7,100 feet to near 6,500 feet.

Thursday morning could bring a mix of rain and snow showers, especially in higher elevations and along mountain passes. Daytime highs cool to the upper 40s before clearing returns later in the day.

Drivers should stay alert for early slick spots Monday morning and again late Wednesday night into Thursday. Additional updates may be issued as the midweek system approaches.
