Washington – Rain taps steadily on rooftops and slick streets across Seattle this afternoon, with heavier bursts already reducing visibility in spots.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances climb to 100 percent by Tuesday with widespread steady rainfall and totals between a quarter and half an inch possible. Winds may gust up to 28 mph, adding to travel concerns.

Across Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma, drivers along I-5 and I-90 should expect pooling water, reduced visibility, and slower commutes through the afternoon and into midweek. Wet pavement and spray from passing vehicles could create sudden hazards. Plan extra time and keep headlights on.

Conditions remain unsettled into Wednesday, with an 80 percent chance of showers and temperatures hovering in the low 50s. Rain may ease briefly at times, but scattered showers will continue to move through the Puget Sound region.

By Thursday, a shift begins. Skies turn partly sunny with highs near 55°F, offering the first real break after several damp days. That drier trend continues into Friday with more sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures.

Looking ahead, clouds return by the weekend with another chance of rain by Saturday and Sunday, signaling the pattern is not fully settled yet.

Five Day Outlook for Seattle, Washington
Tuesday: High 49°F, steady rain
Wednesday: High 51°F, showers
Thursday: High 55°F, partly sunny
Friday: High 58°F, partly sunny
Saturday: High 60°F, chance of rain
