Texas – Low clouds stretch across Dallas this afternoon, and the air feels thick as moisture builds ahead of a more active storm pattern. The sky may look calm now, but changes are already underway.

According to the National Weather Service, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms continues today, with highs near 85°F and south winds gusting up to 25 mph. While early activity remains isolated, conditions are becoming more favorable for storms to develop.

Across Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington, drivers along I-35, I-20, and Highway 75 should stay alert for sudden slick spots if a shower develops. Brief downpours could reduce visibility with little warning. Plan extra time if traveling this afternoon.

By Tuesday, storm chances increase slightly, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. The bigger concern arrives Wednesday, when rain and thunderstorm chances rise to between 30 and 60 percent. Some storms could bring heavier rain and gusty winds, creating localized travel slowdowns.

Meteorologists are tracking this midweek system closely. Conditions may deteriorate quickly during peak travel hours, especially if storms organize into stronger clusters. Keep devices charged and check for updates before heading out.

After the midweek storms, drier and warmer air returns. Thursday brings mostly sunny skies with highs near 87°F, followed by continued warmth into Friday.
