Northern New York Wind Advisory Today With 50 MPH Gusts

Burlington, VT – Strong winds are expected today, with a Wind Advisory in effect for parts of the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph are forecast, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph across portions of northern New York. In the Champlain Valley, gusts could reach around 40 mph.

The Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. through 2 p.m. for much of northern New York.

Forecasters warn that winds of this strength may bring down tree limbs and could lead to isolated power outages. Driving may also become difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and use caution when traveling.

The timing may impact morning and midday commuters across the region.
