Las Vegas, NV – Dangerous crosswinds and blowing dust are expected to intensify across southern Nevada this afternoon, creating hazardous travel conditions that could impact drivers within hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m. Sunday for the Las Vegas Valley, Clark County, and surrounding مناطق, with sustained southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph. Higher elevations in the Spring Mountains could see isolated gusts exceeding 60 mph.

Major travel corridors including I-15, US-95, and I-11 may experience sudden crosswinds, especially in open desert stretches. Blowing dust near dry lake beds could briefly reduce visibility, particularly near Primm, Searchlight, and along the Colorado River Valley.

The advisory also includes Lake Mead National Recreation Area, where hazardous boating conditions are expected through the evening. In California, similar wind impacts extend into the Mojave Desert and Owens Valley, including Barstow and Bishop, where gusts may reach 50 mph and persist later into the night.

Residents should secure outdoor items, avoid unnecessary travel in high-profile vehicles, and prepare for isolated power outages. Winds are expected to gradually ease overnight, but advisories remain in effect into late Sunday night across much of the region.
