New Hampshire Search Alert Today: Missing Person Reported in Merrimack River in Hooksett

Hooksett, NH – A multi-agency search is underway after a person was reported missing in the Merrimack River Saturday evening in Hooksett.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, the incident was reported around 7:08 p.m. Saturday when authorities received information that an individual had fallen into the river from a railroad track bridge near Riverside Street and Main Street. Emergency crews quickly responded and began a coordinated search effort spanning several miles of river and shoreline.

Officials said the response included State Police Marine Patrol officers, troopers from Troop D and Troop G, as well as local departments including Hooksett Police, Hooksett Fire-Rescue, Hopkinton Police, and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Search teams utilized boats to comb the water while drones equipped with thermal imaging technology were deployed to assist in locating the individual.

The search continued for several hours into the night before being temporarily paused. Authorities indicated operations are expected to resume during daylight hours Sunday as crews continue efforts to locate the missing person.

Investigators have not released the identity of the individual, noting it is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation. Officials also emphasized there is no known threat to the public in connection with the incident.
