Oregon – Rain streaks across windshields and kicks up spray along I-84 this afternoon near Pendleton, where steady showers and gusty winds are already slowing traffic. Roads are wet and visibility dips at times, especially on open stretches where wind pushes rain sideways. Plan extra time and keep both hands on the wheel.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances climb to 80–90% through the day with totals between a tenth and half inch possible. Winds increase from the south at 9 to 11 mph, with gusts reaching 22 mph. Conditions stay unsettled into tonight, with continued rainfall and damp roadways.

Across Pendleton and Umatilla County, rain continues through the afternoon before easing slightly into Monday. A brief break develops later Monday with partial sunshine, though breezy winds up to 33 mph could impact high-profile vehicles. Roads may begin to dry, but shifting winds remain a concern.

By Tuesday, calmer weather returns with partly sunny skies and highs near 59 degrees. That break will not last long. Moisture returns Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing another round of rain and cooler temperatures.

Here’s the key shift: temperatures drop near freezing by Wednesday night, with lows around 31 degrees. A rain-to-snow mix becomes possible, especially in higher elevations and early morning hours. Slushy or slick ճանապարհներ could develop if precipitation lingers during colder periods.

Looking ahead, gradual warming returns late week with drier conditions and highs climbing back into the upper 50s and 60s. Stay alert for midweek changes, especially if traveling early.
