Oregon – Rain begins to spot windshields across Portland this afternoon, with clouds lowering and damp pavement already slowing traffic along I-5 and I-84. Conditions are still manageable, but the pattern is shifting. Heavier rain is building, and travel impacts will increase quickly. Plan extra time heading out.

According to the National Weather Service, shower chances rise to 60% through the afternoon, with light accumulation expected before steadier rain develops. Winds remain light early, but a stronger system arrives Tuesday with gusts up to 28 mph and rainfall totals between a tenth and quarter inch.

Across the Portland metro, including Beaverton, Gresham, and Vancouver, showers continue into the evening with mostly cloudy skies holding firm. Roads stay damp into the next commute window. By Monday, scattered showers linger with about a 50% chance, keeping conditions unsettled but not severe.

Tuesday marks the biggest impact window. Rain becomes widespread with near 80–100% coverage, paired with breezy winds that could sway trees and push water across roadways. Expect slower travel, especially during peak commute hours. Keep headlights on and watch for pooling on low-lying roads.

By Wednesday, showers continue with a chance of thunderstorms developing later in the day. Snow levels drop to around 2100 feet, though metro areas stay rain-focused. A gradual drying trend begins late week, with partial sunshine returning and temperatures climbing back toward 60 degrees.

Five Day Forecast for Portland, OR

Tuesday: Rain and breezy, high near 54°F
Wednesday: Showers, slight thunder risk, high near 54°F
Thursday: Chance of rain, high near 56°F
