Minnesota – Low clouds hang over the Twin Cities as scattered thunderstorms move through, bringing brief downpours and flashes of lightning that can quickly slick roads across Minneapolis. Drivers along I-94 and Highway 62 may encounter sudden visibility drops as showers pass.

According to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, isolated to scattered storms continue through the day, with small hail and brief heavy rain possible, especially east into western Wisconsin. Winds remain light, but any storm could produce quick bursts of rain that impact travel.

Conditions shift quickly into a more active pattern by Monday. Minneapolis and surrounding areas, including Bloomington and St. Paul, will see showers become more widespread after midday, with rain chances climbing to 70%. Roads may stay wet into the evening commute, so plan extra time and watch for ponding on ramps and low spots.

By Monday night into Tuesday, the risk escalates. Some storms could turn strong to severe, with the potential for large hail, damaging wind gusts, and even an isolated tornado. Heavy rainfall may also lead to localized flooding, especially in poor drainage areas.

Midweek trends slightly cooler with continued scattered showers, while temperatures hover near 70 degrees. A brief warmup follows later in the week, hinting at more stable spring conditions ahead.

Five Day Forecast for Minneapolis, Minnesota:
Monday: Showers likely, high 74°F
Tuesday: Chance of showers, high 69°F
Wednesday: Chance of showers, high 69°F
Thursday: Partly sunny, high 76°F
Friday: Showers likely, high 68°F
