Baltimore, MD – Temperatures are climbing quickly across the Mid-Atlantic today, creating a noticeable split across Maryland where inland areas will feel significantly warmer than locations closer to the Chesapeake Bay.

According to the National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington, highs will reach the mid to upper 70s west of I-95 and south of the Potomac River, with some areas pushing near 80°F by mid to late afternoon. Meanwhile, northeast Maryland and coastal areas will remain cooler, with highs holding in the mid-60s due to onshore flow.

Cities including Washington, D.C., Frederick, and Charlottesville will see the warmest conditions, while Baltimore, Elkton, and areas along the I-95 corridor may experience slightly cooler readings depending on cloud cover and wind direction.

Drivers and outdoor workers should be prepared for shifting conditions across short distances, especially when traveling from inland areas toward the coast. The temperature contrast could also lead to changing wind patterns through the afternoon.

Residents are encouraged to dress in layers and stay aware of local conditions, particularly if spending extended time outdoors.

This mild pattern will continue into the start of the workweek, with additional warming expected in the coming days.
