Burlington, VT – Dry conditions will hold through most of the day across Vermont, but changes arrive quickly this evening as a warm front pushes in with widespread rain and increasing winds.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, temperatures will climb into the 50s this afternoon under partly sunny skies. Conditions will remain quiet through daylight hours before rain develops after sunset and spreads across the region overnight.

Communities across the Champlain Valley, including Burlington, Plattsburgh, and St. Albans, will see steady rainfall develop late evening into the overnight hours. Gusty winds are also expected to increase, especially across northern New York and western Vermont, which could impact travel on exposed roadways like I-89 and U.S. Route 7.

The incoming system marks the start of a more unsettled pattern, with additional showers expected into Monday and beyond as warmer air continues to build into the region.

Residents should plan for wet roads overnight and reduced visibility during periods of steady rain. Secure loose outdoor items ahead of gusty winds and allow extra travel time for the Monday morning commute.

Rain will continue into early Monday, with more rounds of unsettled weather expected into the upcoming week.
