Indianapolis, Indiana – Quiet, dry weather will hold through Sunday afternoon, but storms are set to arrive after 8 p.m., bringing rain and potential thunder into the overnight hours across central Indiana.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, temperatures will steadily warm through the weekend, with highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s Sunday after a cooler Saturday in the 60s and low 70s. Winds will also increase Sunday, adding to the early spring warmth before conditions shift late in the day.

Cities including Indianapolis, Lafayette, Bloomington, and Muncie will stay dry through most of Sunday, making for favorable outdoor conditions. However, clouds will increase by evening as a system approaches from the west, pushing showers and thunderstorms into the region overnight and into Monday morning.

Drivers should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility during the late-night hours, especially along I-65, I-69, and I-70 corridors. Residents are encouraged to charge devices and monitor alerts ahead of the incoming storms.

Unsettled weather will continue into early next week, with additional chances for showers and thunderstorms expected beyond Monday.
