Miami, Florida – Gusty winds are already making an impact across South Florida this afternoon, with breezy conditions expected to persist through the evening and affect travel along coastal roadways.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, strong easterly winds driven by high pressure to the north will continue, with sustained speeds between 15 and 25 mph and higher gusts at times. Temperatures are climbing into the upper 70s along the coast and mid-80s inland, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Naples.

While most areas remain dry, a low-end chance of showers—around 10% to 20%—could develop along the Atlantic coast, particularly near West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Any showers will be brief but could create slick spots on roads like I-95 and U.S. 1.

Boaters and beachgoers should be cautious, as choppy conditions are expected along the Atlantic waters. Inland areas such as Immokalee and Clewiston will stay warmer and drier, with highs reaching the low 80s.

Residents should secure loose outdoor items and use caution on east-west roadways where crosswinds may be strongest. Breezy and warm conditions are expected to continue into the weekend, with limited rain chances.
