Roseville, MI – A 46-year-old Roseville man is facing 18 criminal charges after investigators searched a Macomb County home in a child sexual abuse material investigation, authorities announced Friday.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, Macomb Area Computer Enforcement detectives, including Electronic Detection K-9 Briggs, and the Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant Wednesday, Aug. 26, at a residence in the 25000 block of Mackinac Street.
Authorities identified the suspect as Paul Vizzaccero. Investigators allege he possessed child sexual abuse material. He was taken into custody without incident.
The sheriff’s office said detectives received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that images containing suspected child sexual abuse material were allegedly being uploaded by the suspect.
Authorities said multiple pieces of evidence were seized and are undergoing forensic review. After the initial search, K-9 Briggs conducted another sweep of the home and detached garage, locating additional evidence, according to the sheriff’s office.
Vizzaccero was arraigned Thursday, Aug. 27, in Roseville’s 39th District Court. The charges include multiple counts involving alleged possession of child sexually abusive material, using computers to commit crimes and other offenses.
Bond was set at $500,000 cash or surety with no 10% option. Conditions include no contact with minors and no use of electronic equipment, according to authorities.
The sheriff’s office said Vizzaccero remained lodged at the Macomb County Jail following his arraignment.
The charges are allegations, and Vizzaccero is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
