Carroll County, MD – Residents may notice an increased presence of police, firefighters and emergency management personnel around the 4000 block of Hooper Road Friday as authorities continue operations at a home.
According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the activity is isolated to the residence and there is no threat to the public. Officials said the emergency response is expected to continue throughout Friday.
The situation began at approximately 5:27 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, when sheriff’s deputies responded to an address in the 4000 block of Hooper Road to check on the welfare of a resident.
Deputies located the resident alive and well, according to the sheriff’s office. However, authorities said conditions inside the home raised additional concerns, prompting the ongoing response involving multiple public safety agencies.
Officials have not publicly detailed the conditions discovered inside the residence or explained what work emergency crews are carrying out Friday.
The sheriff’s office issued its community notice to make residents aware of the increased presence of fire department, law enforcement and emergency management equipment in the area.
