Texas – Warm air is already settling over Dallas, and the calm, slightly humid feel won’t last long as storm chances begin building into the afternoon and intensify heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, highs climb near 83°F today with a 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms developing after midday. Winds remain light, but moisture continues increasing, setting the stage for a more active pattern.

Across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, including I-35, I-20, and U.S. 75 corridors, most roads stay dry early. Still, brief downpours could develop later, creating slick spots and reduced visibility. Keep an eye on the sky if traveling this afternoon.

Conditions hold warm and partly cloudy into the evening, but attention quickly turns to Saturday. Scattered storms begin developing by afternoon, then increase into the evening hours. Lightning and brief heavy rain could impact outdoor plans.

Saturday night brings a stronger signal. Storm chances climb to 40%, with isolated thunderstorms possible across North Texas. While severe weather is not guaranteed, gusty winds and localized downpours could develop.

Sunday is the main concern. Widespread showers and thunderstorms move in, with an 80% chance of rain and highs near 79°F. Expect wet roads, slower travel, and possible ponding on highways during heavier bursts.

By Monday, the pattern stays unsettled with additional storm chances and highs returning to the low 80s. Breaks of sun will be limited between passing showers.

Looking ahead, above-normal warmth continues into next week, with daily storm chances lingering across the region.
