Michigan – Rain is already soaking pavement across Metro Detroit, and drivers are dealing with slick roads and reduced visibility as showers push through the region now.
According to the National Weather Service, rain chances peak this morning with up to a 90 percent likelihood of showers before tapering later in the day. Temperatures hold near 53°F, keeping conditions cool and damp across southeast Michigan.
Across Detroit, Dearborn, and Warren, wet pavement is creating slower travel along I-94, I-75, and I-696. Expect ponding in low spots and longer braking distances during heavier bursts of rain. Keep headlights on and allow extra space between vehicles during the commute.
Conditions begin to improve later today as showers taper off and skies gradually stabilize. By Saturday, sunshine returns with highs near 54°F, offering a brief but welcome dry window for outdoor plans.
The pattern shifts again heading into Sunday. Temperatures jump to around 74°F, but clouds increase with a 30 percent chance of showers developing. That unsettled trend continues into Sunday night, when rain chances rise to 50 percent and could impact evening travel.
By Monday, warmer air takes over, with highs near 76°F under partly sunny skies. While the day starts drier, additional rain chances linger into the evening, keeping roads potentially damp.
Looking ahead, temperatures stay above normal into next week, with highs in the 70s and periodic rain chances continuing across the Great Lakes region.
