Eugene, Oregon – A missing 63-year-old Eugene man was found deceased after a multi-week search effort.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, search and rescue personnel and a detective returned April 9 to the Hall Road area west of Cheshire to continue looking for Jonathan Allen House, who had been missing since mid-March.

Authorities said House was last known to be in the 25600 block of Hall Road. During the renewed search, volunteers located his remains in a heavily overgrown area.

Officials reported that crews had to clear a path using chainsaws and hand tools to reach and recover the body due to dense vegetation.

At this time, the sheriff’s office stated there is no indication that a crime occurred. The investigation remains ongoing as standard procedure.
