Kinsman, IL – A 30-year-old Huntley woman was killed and two other people suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning following a crash in unincorporated Kinsman in Grundy County, authorities said.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 8:55 a.m. Wednesday to West Gardner Road and South Johnny Run Road for a reported two-vehicle crash.

Investigators identified the woman who died as Rosemary Bolding of Huntley. Authorities said Bolding was driving a blue 2017 Honda Civic northbound on South Johnny Run Road when she allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign before entering the intersection with West Gardner Road.

The Honda was subsequently struck by a white 2024 Mercedes GLE traveling eastbound on West Gardner Road, according to the preliminary investigation.

Authorities said the Honda continued approximately 500 feet from the intersection before striking the southeast corner of a residence in the 6900 block of West Gardner Road. It then struck the rear of an unoccupied 2022 Ford utility vehicle parked in the driveway.

Bolding suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Grundy County Coroner John Callahan, according to the sheriff’s office. The resident of the home was inside when the crash occurred but was not injured.

The 60-year-old woman driving the Mercedes and her 64-year-old male passenger, both from Seneca, exited their vehicle and suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

The Mazon, Coal City, Braceville and Verona-Kinsman fire departments assisted deputies along with the Grundy County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit and the coroner’s office. No additional information was immediately available.
