Ashville, Ohio – A 14-year-old was rushed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital within minutes Wednesday morning after being stabbed multiple times, prompting a rapid law enforcement response across Pickaway County.
According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a 911 call at 8:55 a.m. reporting a stabbing involving two individuals. Deputies and Ashville Police responded to the area near 521 Ashton Woods Drive, where the incident occurred before the victim fled toward Teays Valley High School.
A school resource officer requested emergency medical support at the high school lobby, where the teen was treated and then transported to the hospital. Authorities say the suspect, identified as a 16-year-old, was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
Investigators determined the altercation stemmed from a struggle inside a residence, where the victim was stabbed multiple times before escaping. Witnesses also ran to the school to alert officials.
The suspect has been charged with felonious assault and transported to a juvenile detention facility in Lancaster. Officials say the investigation remains ongoing, with additional details expected as the case develops.
