Green, Ohio – A deadly crash in Summit County is prompting an active investigation after a motorcyclist was killed following a collision on a busy roadway Tuesday evening.
According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7:10 p.m. to South Arlington Road in the City of Green for a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV. Authorities say a Ford Explorer was attempting to turn left into an apartment complex when it was struck by a southbound 2007 Yamaha motorcycle.
The impact caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle. Emergency crews transported the victim to Summa Akron City Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Officials identified the motorcyclist as a 26-year-old man from Green. The driver of the SUV did not suffer serious injuries. Investigators confirmed the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Summit Metro Crash Response Team, and additional details may be released as the case develops.
