Texas – Rain chances are ramping up across the Coastal Bend over the next 24 hours, with wetter conditions set to impact travel and outdoor plans before a sharp warm-up arrives early next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, rain chances climb to 55% by Thursday and peak near 65% on Friday as deeper moisture moves inland. Roads along I-37, US-181, and coastal routes could see periods of wet pavement and reduced visibility, especially during heavier showers.
Thursday brings scattered showers with highs ranging from 77°F to 82°F. Conditions remain humid, and brief downpours could develop quickly during the day.
Friday is the most active period, with widespread showers and possible thunderstorms. Rain coverage increases across Corpus Christi, Portland, and Rockport, potentially slowing commutes and creating ponding on low-lying roads.
By Saturday, rain chances begin to taper slightly to around 40%, though isolated storms remain possible. Temperatures edge warmer into the mid-80s.
Sunday continues the gradual warm-up, with highs approaching the upper 80s and rain chances dropping to around 35%. Onshore flow strengthens, bringing more humidity back into the region.
By Monday, a noticeable shift arrives. Highs climb into the low 90s, marking a return to early summer heat across South Texas.
Looking ahead, warm and humid conditions persist into next week, with additional isolated rain chances possible.
