Louisville, Kentucky – A cold start in the 30s early this morning is quickly giving way to a sharp warmup, with temperatures climbing into the 70s by this afternoon across central Kentucky and southern Indiana.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, morning lows dipped into the low to mid-30s across the Bluegrass region, with upper 30s to low 40s elsewhere. Temperatures will rebound into the upper 60s to mid-70s today, then climb even higher Thursday with highs reaching the upper 70s.

Cities including Louisville, Lexington, and Elizabethtown will see dry and mild conditions through Thursday, supporting outdoor plans and travel along major routes like I-64 and I-65. However, the next weather shift arrives Friday as moisture increases across the region.

Rain chances rise to 30–40% Friday afternoon through Friday night, mainly impacting southern Indiana and northern Kentucky. While widespread severe weather is not expected, passing showers could create slick roads during the evening commute.

Residents should plan for changing conditions heading into Friday and stay updated on any adjustments to rain timing. Dry and warmer weather holds through Thursday before the next round of showers moves in late week.
