Tampa, Florida – Periods of rain and scattered thunderstorms will continue to move across the Tampa Bay region through Thursday, bringing gusty winds and interruptions to outdoor plans through the next 36 hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, rain chances range from 40 to 70 percent Wednesday, with breezy conditions persisting across west central and southwest Florida. Thunderstorms may develop at times, producing brief downpours and wind gusts strong enough to impact travel along I-275, I-4, and U.S. 19.

Conditions remain unsettled Thursday, with another 20 to 70 percent chance of showers and storms throughout the day. Cities including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and Bradenton will see on-and-off rainfall, especially during the afternoon hours.

By Friday, rain chances drop sharply to near 0 to 20 percent, though breezy conditions will linger with highs climbing into the mid-80s. The pattern shifts further into the weekend, with dry air taking over and temperatures rising into the mid to upper 80s under mostly sunny skies.

Residents should remain alert for brief storms through Thursday and secure loose outdoor items due to gusty winds. Conditions improve significantly heading into the weekend, though additional updates are possible if storm coverage increases.
