CHICAGO, IL – Illinois Governor JB Pritzker on Tuesday demanded the immediate removal of President Donald Trump from office, labeling the president a “deranged madman” following a series of social media posts that threatened the total destruction of Iran.
The governor’s demand for federal intervention has intensified the political fallout surrounding the current administration’s military strategy in the Middle East. According to a statement released by Governor Pritzker on Tuesday, the president’s rhetoric regarding the potential death of an entire civilization makes the invocation of the 25th Amendment a necessity for national safety.
“This is not foreign policy,” Pritzker stated via his official social media channels. “It’s a deranged mad man threatening to wipe out an entire country. It’s past time. The 25th Amendment must be invoked.”
The 25th Amendment allows the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to remove a president they deem unable to discharge the duties of the office. This escalation follows reports of a social media post from the president claiming that “a whole civilization will die tonight” and promising “Complete and Total Regime Change.”

According to former Vice President Kamala Harris, the administration’s actions constitute a “disastrous war of his own making” that lacks a coherent strategy. Harris alleged on Tuesday that the president is threatening war crimes and is “needlessly putting our brave service members in harm’s way” while making life unaffordable for American families due to the economic strain of the conflict.
The backlash in Illinois reflects a growing movement among Democratic leaders to curb executive power as military tensions reach a breaking point. As of Tuesday, several congressional members have joined Pritzker’s call, urging an immediate session to defund what they describe as an “illegal war of choice” before the situation escalates further.
