Paducah, KY – A sharp warmup is set to take hold across western Kentucky within the next 24 hours, bringing a 20-degree temperature swing and setting the stage for late-week thunderstorms.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, cooler conditions today will keep highs between 54°F and 63°F under partly cloudy skies, but temperatures rebound quickly by Wednesday into the low to mid-70s. That warming trend continues through Thursday and Friday, with highs climbing into the upper 70s to near 80°F.

Communities along the I-24 and I-69 corridors, including Paducah, Mayfield, and Murray, will see steadily improving conditions midweek, making for favorable travel and outdoor plans. While severe weather is not guaranteed, any storms could bring brief downpours and gusty winds, potentially impacting late-day travel. Residents should stay alert for updates as the system approaches.

Warmer, more active weather continues into the weekend, with additional chances for rain and storms possible.
