Caribou, ME – Temperatures are set to drop fast after sunset, with some northern communities falling as low as 3°F overnight while light snow begins spreading into southern Maine.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, clear skies this morning will give way to increasing cloud cover by mid-afternoon, followed by light snow developing across southern பகுதிகள் by late evening and continuing through the overnight hours. Snow chances increase after 6 p.m. across Bangor, Dover-Foxcroft, and coastal Downeast areas, with lighter activity farther north.
Low temperatures will range from around 3°F in far northern towns like Estcourt and Fort Kent to the upper teens and low 20s along the coast, including Bar Harbor and Eastport. Roads across I-95, Route 1, and secondary highways could turn slick where snow develops, especially as temperatures quickly fall below freezing.
While snowfall amounts remain light, the combination of cold pavement and intermittent snow could create patchy icy spots during the nighttime hours. Residents should limit late-night travel if possible and bundle up against the sharp cold.
Conditions begin to improve by early Wednesday morning, though below-normal temperatures will persist before a gradual warmup later this week.
