Rawlins, WY – A juvenile has died following a collision involving a bicycle and a vehicle Saturday afternoon in Rawlins, according to local authorities.
According to the Rawlins Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:21 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, to the area of East State Street and Jefferson Avenue after receiving reports of a crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle.
The Rawlins Police Department was joined at the scene by the Rawlins Fire Department, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Carbon County EMS, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Officials confirmed the juvenile died as a result of the collision. The department extended its condolences to the victim’s family but has not released the juvenile’s identity or additional details about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Rawlins Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Authorities have not announced whether any citations or charges are expected.
Following the incident, the Rawlins Police Department Victim Assistance Program and representatives from Carbon County School District One provided support and resources to the victim’s family.
Investigators said the case remains active, and no additional information has been released.
